Join us for the ADVANCE 5-day Summer School on Gene and Cell Therapies, taking place in person from June 16–20, 2025, in Ljubljana, Slovenia!

The program of the workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the rapidly evolving field of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), which are transforming the treatment of diseases and injuries. Designed as an interactive and in-depth event, the summer school will address the four key challenges in the ATMP development cycle: Scientific & Clinical, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) & Reimbursement. Through lectures, case studies, and hands-on discussions, participants will gain valuable insights into the latest advancements and real-world applications of ATMPs.


Target audience:

  • early-career biomedical academics (PhDs, Postdocs),
  • doctors in training, clinician-scientists,
  • pharma industry and SME-based professionals,
  • regulatory affairs professionals.


Interactive programme will include:

  • keynote lectures by experts in the field,
  • tour of ATMP production facilities,
  • hands-on activities (workshops and group assignments),
  • presentations of the research projects to peers,
  • plenty of networking activities and social events!

  • To attend the summer school, applicants must complete one of the following online courses by May 15, 2025:
    • “Cell & Gene Therapies – ATMP development” – in English. More details and access to the course are available on the EATRIS Transmed Academy website
    • Or “Uvod v področje zdravil za napredno zdravljenje” – in Slovenian. More details and access to the course are available on the ULTRA project webpage
  • How to apply: To secure a spot, applicants must submit their registration through the designated form


Costs and Logistics:

Attendance is free of charge; however, participants are responsible for their own travel costs. Lunch and coffee breaks are also provided free of charge at the event venue by the organizers.


Accreditation:

Participants who successfully complete the ADVANCE summer school will be able to apply for ECTS through the University of Ljubljana.
