Prof. Franc Vrečer, M. Pharm., Ph. D.

Franc Vrečer is pedagogically active on three study programs on Faculty of Pharmacy:

Single-cycle master study programme Pharmacy

• Pharmaceutical Technology I
• Industrial Pharmacy

The master study programme Industrial Pharmacy

• Industrial Development of Medicines
• Design of Particle Properties
• Quality assurance in pharmaceutical production

The interdisciplinary doctoral programme in Biomedicine

• Module 4.2: Drug Delivery Systems
• Industrial development of dosage forms

Franc Vrečer is active on variety of research fields:

• Preformulation studies including particle engineering
• Formulation studies (solubilisation, dosage forms with prolonged/sustained release, optimization of formulations and technological processes)
• Process analytical techniques of technological processes in laboratory and industrial environment

Franc Vrečer is for many years active member of Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society. He has had many responsible functions in the Society (e.g. President of Pharmaceutical Technological Section, President of the Slovenian Pharmaceutical Society, President of the Scientific Section, member of Publishing Committee , member of editorial board of Farmacevtski vestnik, member of supervisory board of Society and Pharmaceutical Technological Section,….). He collaborates in organization of professional and scientific meetings organized by Society and Pharmaceutical Technological Section, at which he participated also actively as lecturer. He actively works also in local professional and scientific organiations and activities in Novo mesto. He's a member of APV (Internation Association of Pharmaceutical Technology).
