Petra Kocbek has finished primary and high school in Maribor. She enrolled in the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana in 1998. In 2009 she graduated under supervision of prof. dr. Julijane Kristl and entered postgraduate study of Biomedicine, scientific field of pharmacy. She received her PhD from UL-Faculty of Pharmacy in 2008 (supervisor prof. dr. Julijana Kristl). Since 2003 she is working at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana; firstly as a young researcher, then as an assistant and now as an assistant professor. She participates in teaching in the Uniform master’s study programme Pharmacy (subjects Pharmaceutical Technology I, Modified Release Dosage Forms, Hospital Pharmacy, Cosmetology), the University study programme Cosmetology (subjects Cosmetical Products II, Nanotechnology in Cosmetology) and in the master’s programme Industrial pharmacy (subjects Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology I and II). Her research expertise includes formulation and characterization of nanodelivery systems (nanosuspensions, polymeric nanoparticles, magnetic nanoparticles, nanofibers, etc.) for application in biomedicine. Awards: 2014 - Certificate of recognition for young university teachers and associates; 2011 - Jožef Stefan Golden Emblem award for outstanding contributions made to science in Doctoral theses; 2008 - Krka Prize for Special Achievements in Research; 2008 – Dean award for outstanding research achievements; 2004 - Krka Prize for research work.
