Tomaž Vovk is the assistant professor for biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 1991 he started his study of pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana. In 1996 he recived the Krka award for his research achievements and in the following year he defended his thesis "The influence of Eudragit type on chitosan films mucoadhesion strength", which had been written under the supervision of Prof. Aleš Mrhar Ph.D. and co-supervisior ascociate Prof. Marija Bogataj Ph.D. After graduating he worked at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana as a young researcher and continued his post-graduate study. In 2000 he took his master's degree and in 2003 he finished post-graduate study by defending his doctor’s thesis entitled "The pig urinary bladder defence against reactive intermediates” under the supervision of Prof. Aleš Mrhar Ph.D. and co-supervisior ascociate Prof. Marija Bogataj Ph.D.
Currently his research work is focused on clinical pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring and oxidative stress. He is a coordinator of clinical studies that Faculty of pharmacy is performing together with pharmaceutical industry and clinical institutions. |
