Mojca Kerec Kos is an assistant professor for biopharmacy and pharmacokinetics at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. After her diploma thesis titled »The influence of interactions between polycarbophil and calcium on the permeation of pipemidic acid through the pig's urothelium« in 1999, she was employed by the Faculty of Pharmacy in Ljubljana. In 2003 Mojca Kerec Kos defended her thesis "The study of the mechanism by which chitosan and polycarbophil influence the transport of model drugs into animal urinary bladder wall". Her mentors were Prof. Aleš Mrhar and Assoc. Prof. Marija Bogataj (University of Ljubljana, Slovenia). Mojca Kerec Kos continued her work at the faculty with postdoctoral project on the topic of bioadhesive polymers used for enhanced absorption of drugs into the urinary bladder wall. Currently her research work is focused on clinical pharmacokinetics and local drug delivery into the urinary bladder wall. She is a coordinator of clinical studies that Faculty of pharmacy is performing together with pharmaceutical industry and clinical institutions. |
