21st EPSA SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2019

The 21st EPSA Summer University 2019 was held from 16th to 21st July 2019 in Portorož. This annual EPSA project gives pharmaceutical students from all over Europe an insight into current and innovative pharmacy topics, focusing on the relaxing atmosphere, accompanied by a quality educational programme. This year's topic "Joining forces with other professionals for better healthcare" featured various workshops and soft skills trainings, which were focused on interprofessional collaboration and education. We also prepared a public health campaign on HPV, where we set a stand on the streets of Portorož and raised awareness among the people.

During the Science Excursion, we visited Slovenian generic pharmaceutical company Krka, d.d. and later on stopped along the way in Postojna Cave to see the human fish. On the last day, participants had a chance totake the final examination,prepared by the speakers. Participants, with more than 55 % of correct answers and full attendance at the educational programme, received a certificate with 2 ECTS, which was issued by the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana.During the evenings, 121 pharmacy students from all over Europe were socialising and learning about the cultural habits of new friends from other countries. The intercultural collaboration and atmosphere in Portorož were great and for that, we have to thank  the best participants, speakers, trainers, and co-organizers, who helped us create a fun and educational pharmaceutical week on the sunny side of the Alps.
