Petra Zadravec was born on March 3 1986 in Murska Sobota, Slovenia. After finished primary school she visited High School Franca Miklošiča Ljutomer. In 2005 she enrolled in the study program of Biotechnology at the Biotechnical Faculty, University of Ljubljana. In 2010 she graduated with the thesis “Display of antigen varieties of hepatitis A on surface of recombinant lactic acid bacterium Lactococcus lactis” under the mentorship Prof. Dr. Borut Štrukelj and co-mentorship Dr. Aleš Berlec. After graduation she worked one year at the Ministry of the environment and spatial planning, Biotechnology section. In November 2011 she was employed by Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana as young researcher. At the same time she has enrolled in the interdisciplinary PhD study of Biomedicine, scientific field Biochemistry and molecular biology at the Faculty of Medicine. As an assistant she is involved in the conduct of laboratory courses in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology for students of pharmacy and biotechnology. As a researcher she works in the field biotechnology of lactic acid bacteria and their therapeutic usage under the mentorship Prof. Dr. Borut Štrukelj and Dr. Aleš Berlec.
