Access:

The equipment is available to researchers at the UL FFA and its partner insitutions. Availability of the storage can be checked via e-mail to the equipment administrator.

Intended Purpose:

The equipment in the biobank system is intended for reliable and safe storage of biological samples obtained in various clinical studies.

Description of equipment:

The freezer for ultra-low temperature (-86 ° C) PHCBi MDF-DU702VH VIP ECO enables efficient cooling with environmentally friendly natural hydrocarbon refrigerants. The freezer contains inverter compressors, which enable intensive cooling in numerous conditions and reduces the energy consumption. The compressors provide optimal thermal stability which is enhanced by freezer design and therefore ensures reliability for storage of thermo-labile samples including biological samples. An intelligent interface and easy data monitoring allows complete user control, the screen is responsive even when the personnel wears gloves, while the USB port allows easy and convenient transfer of recorded data to a computer. The important information including freezer temperature, door opening time and alarm history is recorded and can be used for monitoring in GLP applications. The Phcbi MDF-DU702VH VIP ECO freezer enables efficient and flexible storage of samples, ensures optimal and uniformly distributed temperature profile with large storage capacity.

ARPEGE 140 by Cryopal is a mid-sized system for storing biological samples at temperatures around –190 °C. It has capacity for 4800 2-mL vials in aluminium racks. The vessel is equipped by an electronic monitoring system to detect nitrogen level and temperature, and to enable automatic filling optimization. The container is used within an institutional biobank to store cell lines and other biological material.
