Falling Walls Lab 2019

On Wednesday, September 25, the International Competition Falling Walls Lab Ljubljana 2019 was held at the NLB Center for Innovative Entrepreneurship in Ljubljana.
Six finalists from different academic fields presented their innovative ideas and each of them had a 3 minute presentation.

The six-member panel selected the winner, Dr. Urban Košak from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ljubljana, who will travel to Berlin on November 8 for the international closing event of Falling Walls Lab. Dr. Košak won with a breakthrough idea of a new drug for alleviating the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. He came up with the idea, along with the rest of the team, because current do that alleviate the symptoms of this disease have many disadvantages (e.g. side effects, inefficacy in late stages of the disease).

Falling Walls Lab Ljubljana 2019 was implemented by the Ljubljana University Incubator in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with the support of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
