| Exploring different approaches to increase the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs with emphasis on lipid-based systems, suitable for oral and dermal application; evaluation of the region of microemulsion existence by pseudo ternary phase diagram and assessment of self-emulsifying ability; adjusting the type and content of lipids, surfactants, co-solvents, and drug precipitation inhibitors to specific active (pharmaceutical) ingredients.
Study of different approaches for the conversion of liquid formulations into solid pharmaceutical forms, with emphasis on solidification of lipid-based systems and their evaluation. The aim is to develop and characterise solid formulations combining the advantages of liquid (e.g. self-microemulsifying systems) and solid pharmaceutical forms, using spray drying, direct absorption, granulation in a rapidly rotating mixer, microencapsulation methods and other appropriate processes.
Development and evaluation of various lipid systems for pharmaceutical and cosmetic application, intended for improving the skin barrier function. Characterisation is focused on the study of their internal structure and influence on the release profile and / or dermal absorption of incorporated substances (using diffusion cells), evaluation of skin barrier function (by measuring transepidermal loss). water - TEWL), as well as measuring the hydration and pH of the skin, the extent of sebum secretion, biomechanical properties of the skin, etc.
She regularly presents the results of her research work at international meetings and publishes them in internationally recognized journals together with her professional colleagues. She also participates in industrial projects, and is a reviewer of various international scientific journals and domestic publications.
